Jaden

As one of 2003's breaking artists, Pop/R&B sensation Jaden is taking the music scene by storm. With an ability to write anything from emotional ballads (Untitled) to fun-loving, in-your-face songs (Liquid), this versatile singer/songwriter has proven that she is as credible as the most well known and respected artists in the industry. Choosing to stay true to herself, Jaden sticks to writing about experiences that have occurred in her own life.

"I don't worry about whether or not people like what I have to say. I don't worry whether or not someone might think my lyrics are either 'too intelligent' or 'not intelligent enough.' I don't think that every word in every line needs to be dissected and analyzed. I just think that sometimes you just have to say it like it is and take it for what it's worth. I write what I feel and however it comes out is the way I leave it. Like me or don't like me….I'm just being real."

On top of being a musical success and rising star, Jaden is also an active supporter of FreeVibe. "I pride myself on the fact that I have never done any drugs. I am secure enough in the sense that I don't need to take drugs to feel cool or fit in, and honestly, I don't think anyone really looks that cool doing it. What's so attractive about acting like a fool because you're high or something? Who would want to fit in with that? I have had drugs in my face, being offered to me, and I don't even have to think for a second before saying no. When people ask me 'Why not do it?' I ask, 'Why should I?' It's amazing how they never have a good answer. I believe in doing things to make myself a better person…not things that bring me down."

Jaden has more than one Anti-Drug that keeps her focused. "I think about letting my family down. I think about letting my fans down. I think about my goals and dreams and how stupid it would be to possibly screw it all up because I gave into someone's warped view of a good time. You don't need drugs to have fun or make friends. True friends accept you for who you are and don't make you do things you don't want to. Be your own person! Mostly, I think about letting myself down and having to live with it for the rest of my life. Even if no one else ever knew, I would still know. My biggest anti-drug is me."
